Our Mission:
The International Caterers Association is the educational arm of the entire catering industry. We are committed to supporting, promoting and improving all aspects of the catering business. We do this through publications, seminars, workshops and demonstrations presented to various trade and industry organizations throughout the year.
History
The ICA began in 1981 by a small group of off-premise caterers who recognized the need for an industry association to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information.
Originally called the National Off-Premise Caterers Roundtable, and then the National Caterers Association, the association has grown in both size and scope to become an international force in the industry. Currently we have over 1,000 members throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Puerto Rico and with an estimated 80,000 caterers situated in North America, ICA is expecting substantial growth in the future.
Who We Are
Headquartered in Washington, DC, ICA represents both off-premise and on-premise caterers all over the world, with off-premise caterers making up about 60 percent of our membership. Our "International" title reflects a worldwide approach to the catering industry and addresses the need to effectively educate caterers on a global level. Membership is open to all qualified caterers, chefs, students, event planners, bridal consultants, suppliers and vendors.
